Local, independent network operators provide wireless, broadband competition and choice for Canadians, including those left behind by TELUS, Bell and Rogers.

Now, this competition is at risk. A regulatory loophole now allows the Big Three telecom providers to access each other’s networks, as well as those of regional and local operators.

Allowing access to one another’s networks will allow TELUS, Bell and Rogers to get even bigger, and entrench their dominance. Plus, they’ve already said they wouldn’t continue to expand their own networks to new markets - leaving more Canadians disconnected.

Real, sustainable telecom competition is within reach. The CRTC must close this loophole, and support legitimate new entrants, regional independents, and Canadians in search of more options, better service and fair pricing.

Don’t let the Big Three fool you - their promises of competition are illusory and short-lived. Only independent network operators can bring Canadians the real choice they deserve.

Break Free from the Big 3 Choose Local Fibre Internet

Say No to the Monopoly, Yes to a Local Choice!

More Internet Choices

Independent ISPs deliver flexibility and competition, giving you more options.

Affordable Prices

When local providers compete, you pay less for your internet services.

Better Customer Experience

Local companies focus on providing personal, high-quality service that the Big 3 often overlook.

Why This Matters to You

When the Big 3 control access to their fibre networks, your options become limited. Without local ISPs offering competitive services, prices rise and innovation stalls.

At the Competitive Network Operators of Canada (CNOC), we believe in providing Canadians with real choices for faster, more affordable internet. The recent decision by the Government of Canada to review the wholesale fibre ruling is a major step forward in protecting competition and ensuring that you, the consumer, can break free from the monopoly of the Big 3.

Canadians now have a choice for fibre internet - beyond the big operators. Choosing local, independent Internet Service Providers (ISPs) means supporting innovation, driving down costs, and connecting to a truly open internet. Now is the time to break free and choose local fibre internet for your home or business.
